- ITIL4 training & certification
Course overview
ITIL is the globally recognised framework for planning, designing, implementing, operating and improving high quality IT services. It is the most widely accepted approach to IT service management in the world. ITIL training can help individuals and organizations use IT to realize business change, transformation and growth. It is used by thousands of organisations worldwide, including multinational companies Shell, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Disney and Microsoft, plus government organisations including NASA, the NHS and the MOD.
ITIL supports organizations and individuals to gain optimal value from IT and digital services. It helps define the direction of the service provider with a clear capability model and aligns them to the business strategy and customer needs.

What is ITIL in more detail?
ITIL is the best known and most well developed framework for ITSM – IT Service Management. ITSM is a conceptual basis for maximising the value gained from the use of IT services. It looks at the whole lifecycle of a service, from the original strategy to live operation and continual improvement. It has a set of principles, such as focussing on value, designed to establish a business culture that achieves success and value. It establishes a set of practices constituting a service management system: ITIL is an example of this. ITIL 4 was launched in February 2019 and is an expansion of the earlier ITIL 3.
As well as looking at the delivery of a single service ITIL also looks at how services can work together to create value, using the concept of a Service Value System. ITIL 4 uses four dimensions to analyse and understand organisations and their requirements:
- Organisation and people
- Information and technology
- Partners and suppliers
- Value streams and processes
