The power of Power BI

Power BI

Demand is rising for Power BI training as businesses look to improve their grips with big data through understanding and visualising multiple data sources for valuable business insight.

Microsoft PowerBI is one of the most popular tools for this area but can be complex with the availability of many features and particularly if it is to be used effectively across the wider business.

What does Power BI training cover?

An example course outline for an ‘Introduction to Power BI’ course may include:

Power BI overview – with a full tour of the Power BI Desktop application including how to connect to data, how to create visualisations, how to format those visualisations and how to save Power Bi pbix files.

Transforming data – why using Power Quey to transform data makes it more reliable and more efficient. Without clean data, there is no artificial intelligence, no data science and no business intelligence.

Creating a data model – including the use of the data model in Power BI and how the time intelligence functions rely on a good data model.

Visualizing your data – covering report page settings, importing and using custom visualisations.

DAX, calculated columns and measures – including creating a new table with explanations of some of the DAX functions.

Publishing reports and creating dashboards – covering workspaces, datasets, reports, dashboards and apps. Featuring security and how to share reports and dashboards with other users.

Create your Power BI learning programme

This autumn we successfully sourced and managed a series of Power BI workshops for our client, taking approximately 70 employees from a range of business areas through a series of short, modular workshops. This format allowed time for application and over 86% of attendees reported a gain in confidence and ability in using PowerBI.

Are you looking to upgrade your team’s knowledge in Power BI? We can source and work with training providers to create a bespoke Power BI training programme for your employees.
